Madrid hosts from June 25 to Aug. 23 the XXIV Edition of the Festival Veranos de la Villa, that will again encourage the hottest months in the capital with a multitude of cycles and activities that include free proposals and small format at strategic points in the city, with the objective of reaching the largest possible number of viewers. Madrid thus becomes a great show and does honor to its well earned reputation for lively, modern and cosmopolitan city. Both the tourists who have decided to get to know Madrid this summer as its inhabitants enjoy a billboard that spans all performing disciplines, with artists from 30 countries with over 130 scenic projects and more than 1100 performances. Programming include performances by Laurie Anderson & Lou Reed, on 14 July, the music of Nina Simone’s hand of to Schackman, 15 July and Cigala y Tomatito, on July 25. This year, the Festival inaugurates a new stage outdoors in the Casa de Campo, called stage Puerta del angel, located in a space surrounded by vegetation and with the best panoramic view of Madrid. The Sabatini gardens will be, as in previous years, the scenario for the appointments of flamenco, zarzuela, gospel or the couplet. Farruco, Sara Baras and Carmen Linares are some of the artists who will participate.

Programming also includes concerts of music from all eras in several spaces of the city, a film series, features puppets and representations at various theatres in Madrid.
